Aleksandar Sorensen Ironman South Africa

Aleksandar was 9th at Ironman South Africa earlier today!

 

Bravo!

 

Swim: 56:40

Bike: 4:50:26

Run: 3:04:23

Total: 8:56:06

 

This is his best placement yet and against a very strong field like Stephen Bayliss, Raynard Tissink, Jason Shortis, Matias Hecht…

I spoke to him shortly on the phone and he did not perform at 100% – his swim is much slower as he was not used to swimming in ocean waves, his bike was actually weak compared to what the test showed and he was totally alone all the time (racing against himself) and he had digestion problems on the run.

So a great result but with a lot of space for improvement.

He will write a race report soon.

Congratulations to Raynard Tissink, I am happy he got his title back.

    Sådan! I top 10 endelig. Jeg tror bestemt ikke du skal være så skuffet over havsvømningen. Det er jo en dræberdisciplin!
    Glæder mig over resultatet og ser frem til en fuld racereport.
